We visited Nancy Bellaire's beautiful garden on Tuesday, but she was holding out on us! She's going backwards today, showing us a few more November highlights in her garden. She says, "Only 12 days ago, my early Nov. yard was rich in fall color. 'Mt. Airy' fothergilla, Cotinus, 'Henry's Garnet' itea, reblooming Iris, and the hydrangeas are turning this year. Hydrangea 'Ruby Slippers' did not disappoint. One of the best years for color in the Delmarva area for quite awhile. One of my favorite moments is when the Camellia 'Winter Star' and Japanese maple 'Viridis' put on their show. A great new annual Alternanthera 'Little Ruby' is still looking great on 11/18. The hosta beside it shines golden through its leaves. Euphorbia 'Ascot Rainbow's tops have turned reddish and will be showy all winter if the snow is kind. Crested ligularia leaves have curled and it's flowered. Until now it was plain, but the leaves in late fall are beautiful. Crape myrtle 'Sioux' and the sun through my Japanese maple that's starting its change from green to brilliant red." Wow, Nancy, so much color in your November!! My November, not so much. Bravo!
